Accessibility: the creation of new routes through the wall, into the Arsenale, thus constructing new links between the Secret Garden and the community outside.
Public Spaces: The new public space responds to and links directly with, the surrounding spaces.
Programme: Everyday Market for locals, Weekly Flea Market attracting both locals and tourists, Auction House for antiques and art works.
Green Space: The introduction of more public green space into an area that doesn’t have any at the moment.
Opening: A new opening is created in the northwest corner, thus generating a connection at the strongest part of the ancient wall. Another opening, between the Secret Garden and the markets, provides access to Campo della Celestia.
Totem: A tall Landmark, which is visible from outside the Secret Garden, signals the new activities within the site, and interacts with people to announce that the markets are open.
